Often times the tropes of “work” and “job” become synonymous but we are afforded an amazing opportunity to uplift tomorrows generation and I just hope that people in this role do not take that for granted. That should be rule #1. Keep yourself present and keep grinding. People like us know that, ultimately, it is worth it!

I completely agree. I think there may have been some issues that the general public was not privy to but I do believe that he had a “target” on his back since the day he took the role as Director of Education. He was an excellent teacher and an even greater inspiration. He espoused the idea of a open-door policy and I hope that we can continue to re-kindle the flame that he left us with. He inspired more than students…

Getting a tattoo that is exposed is a challenging experience the first time. When I first started, I was afraid to wear my earrings, let alone show a tattoo. But a few years later, I am tatted from my wrist to shoulder I would tell you, that in the current climate of education (and society, in general) a tattoo is low on the radar of contemporary life. So, I would say go for it! I would advice to probably “dress professional” (for whatever that means) when you go in for an interview, but beyond that, I do not think that you will face much backlash. And even if you do, that is a time for you do educate people on aesthetics, professionalism, and individuality.
